Over the years, we’ve visited hundreds of Japanese spas and have seen more of Japan than most native Japanese.
To share the fruits of our research, we’ve formed a tour company, Ten Thousand Travels. It’s designed for the traveler who doesn’t normally do tours, but wants to get deep into the culture--to see and experience more than just the tourist spots in Tokyo and Kyoto. Groups are limited to 18 or less, and the focus is on hot water, great food, and adventures not usually available to those without a familiarity with the language or friends who live there.
For fall 2014, we are planning three separate trips-Tohoku and Northern Japan, Nagano and the Japan Alps, and Kyushu and Kyoto. Each trip can be done separately for twelve days, or two or three can be combined for up to 33 days. We can also arrange trip extensions to Tokyo or Kyoto. Tours sold out by March last year, so if you are interested, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
